HOA BOARD

Walden Pond Estates Homeowner’s Association board members are elected by majority at the annual meeting. Terms of office are two years and staggered with the president and secretary elected on even numbered years and the vice president, treasurer, and trustee elected on odd numbered years. The board meets four times a year in addition to the annual meeting.

The President is the Chief Executive Officer of the Association, presides as chairperson of Association and Board of Directors meetings, determines the order of business at such meetings, sees that the orders and resolutions of the Association Board are carried out, signs all leases, deeds, service agreements and other written instruments, co-signs all Association checks and promissory notes, appoints, with the Board approval, the chairs of any Association committees, is an ex officio member of all Association committees, compiles the Annual Report of Association Activities, serves as official spokesperson of the Association, and performs such other tasks generally performed by the President of a Home Owner’s Association or reasonably assigned by the Board of Directors.

The Vice President performs the duties of the President in the event of his/her absence, inability, or refusal to act, prepares and distributes notices of regular and special meetings, distributes the Annual Report to members, assists the other officers as requested by the Board of Directors, is an ex officio member of all Association committees, and performs such other tasks generally performed by the Vice President of a Home Owner’s Association or reasonably assigned by the Board of Directors.

The Secretary keeps the minutes of all meetings of the Board of Directors and the Committees, keeps the minutes of the annual and special Membership Meetings, records the votes, keeps a list of current members of the association and their addresses, keeps such other books and papers as the Board of Directors may direct, and performs such other tasks generally performed by the Secretary of a Home Owner’s Association or reasonably assigned by the Board of Directors.

TREASURER, Jessie Albrecht

The Treasurer collects assessments from the members, deposits in appropriate bank accounts all unemployed monies of the Association, disperses Association funds as directed by resolution of the Board of Directors, signs all checks and promissory notes of the association, has custody of all the receipts, statements, disbursements, funds and securities of the Association, keeps proper books of account, prepares an annual statement of income and expenditures to be presented to the membership at its regular annual meeting, prepares a proposed budget for the ensuing year, and performs such other tasks generally performed by the Treasurer of a Home Owner’s Association or reasonably assigned by the Board of Directors.

The trustee attends bimonthly City Council meetings, reports relevant issues to the board, and performs such other tasks generally performed by the Trustee of a Home Owner’s Association or reasonably assigned by the Board of Directors.

The Landscape Committee obtains estimates for the landscaping maintenance of common areas and is available to property owners for guidance in plant selections. List of suggested trees to avoid can be found here.
